Savannah College of Art & Design
B.F.A. of Interior Design, 1990
Seasoned interior designer Gregory Vaughan brings an exceptionally diverse skill set to the Court Atkins Group team, including special expertise in the areas of space planning, value engineering, color coordination and task management. He’s committed to consistent, thorough client communication, a talent which has inspired his regular local newspaper column. Gregory says his passion for interior design is rooted in childhood days along the Rappahannock River near the Chesapeake Bay. “This is where I developed my love for all things coastal. Water, sand, fish, crabs, shells…and a penchant for colors like blue, green, tan and gray.” He was further influenced by an uncle who focused on contemporary architecture, a contrast to the traditional Richmond home where Gregory grew up with his parents and two siblings. After high school he attended SCAD with the dream of becoming an interior designer. Not only did he graduate magna cum laude, Gregory instantly earned his first job at a Hilton Head Island firm and thrived there for three decades, working with several other local design teams along the way. He and partner Jeffrey and they now split their time between an 1890 Victorian Savannah home and an evolving marsh cottage in Moss Creek. The two enjoy travel, books, yoga, food and wine plus of course, modern design.
